British Schools during World War II

A) Hopscotch, skipping ropes, leap-frog, British bulldogs and football with a tennis ball were all very popular. Puzzle making was always fun.

At 9:00, Dan Smith’s friend phoned and said that his payment wras late. “The cheque is in the post,” Dan replied. At 10:00 Dan was late for school. He told that the traffic had been bad. That evening Dan’s Mum wore a new dress. Dan hated it. “It looks great on you,” he said. Three lies in one day!
Yet Dan is just an ordinary guy. Each time he told himself that sometimes the truth causes too many problems. Is telling lies a new trend? The majority of people in a recent survey said that people were more honest ten years ago. Lying wrasn’t really born yesterday.
